The fruit for this wine comes from one of our neighbours. It was hand-picked in excellent condition on the 19 February which was quite early; 2024 was our earliest vintage since 2007. Once in the winery, the grapes were gently whole-bunch pressed and cold settled in tank. After racking off solids, the juice was inoculated with a German riesling yeast to maintain the aromatics. Cooling was maintained until the fermentation was complete in early March. The fermentation in tank helps reveal the intriguing fruit character of GV. Fresh yet rich, Gruner can be matched to a wide range of foods.
